Geometry and Volume Visualization

Geometry data, in terms of data visualization, is used to describe the shape and position of structures in space. Geometry is constructed to represent features or trends within a set of data. Volume data, or three-dimensional data is similar to two-dimensional image data, except that it extends into a third dimension. This geometric or volumetric data can be turned into an image by a process called rendering. The rendered image may provide insight into the nature of the data or into the process that created the data.
