putimage: Non-Interactive Image Display

A quick look of an image can be accomplished by executing putimage from the command line user interface (CLUI), by using the graphical user interface (GUI), or executing from cantata. There is limited flexibility on the display attributes of this tool.

The features provided by putimage include:

• image X (width) offset
• image Y (height) offset
• input map
• output file
• enable creation of private colormap
• complex data conversion (for complex images)
• type of normalization (local, global)
• normalization method
• define functions dictating colormap
• clip gate image
• colormap image
• colormap
• window size (widthxheight)
• window placement (width, height)
• update time

Clicking on the "Options" button gives access to the display parameters shown on the following pane object.

Image Object Attributes

putimage can be executed from within cantata, or directly from the command line. To display an image from the command line user interface (CLUI) type:

        putimage -i image.filename

        putimage -gui
