Image Sharpening
Building the Cantata Workspace
- Get image $DIP/data/retina.viff, convert its data type to "float"
and display it using operators
User defined
Convert Type
and
Display Image
.
- Perform the convolution of the image and kernel and display the
result. Use operator
Linear Operator
The laplacian mask is in $DIP/data/laplacian.ascii.
- Pad the kernel and take its Fourier transform
to visualize its response in the frequency domain. The operators are
Pad
and
FFT
.
- Add the original image with its filtered version and display result.
Exercises
- Design a combined kernel which performs the laplacian and the addition
simultaneously.
- Perform the same experiment but modifying high-pass kernels.
- User pseudocolor to visualize the frequency response of the Laplacian
operator, with the
Autocolor
operator.
